Spider-Man No Way Home has a particular ending, which for some offers various problems, with real plot holes. The writers have had their say.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is one of the most successful films of the year, but according to some the ending is basically a big plot hole, unclear. The writers then had their say on the matter.
Obviously, to talk about the details we have to SPOIL THE FINAL and on the whole film, so don’t go beyond the image if you don’t want to suffer any anticipation.
Anyone who has seen Spider-Man: No Way Home, knows what happens, but let’s make a local mind. In attempting to make the world forget his secret identity, Peter Parker asks Dr Strange to use a spell, but this causes a rift between the universes and lures more Spider-Man and other super-villains to the MCU universe. Eventually, to solve the problem, Peter decides to make the whole world forget who he is, including his friends.
How does this Spider-Man: No Way Home final spell work? Does Peter Parker still have to pay taxes? Will he be able to get a driver’s license? And what happens to all the photographs in which it is present? The questions are many and for some this spell creates more logical and narrative problems than it solves.
Spider-Man: No Way Home writers Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna said, in response, “We made this decision: to create an extremely satisfying scene and focus on emotion. And if people have questions about what happened they don’t. they have been answered, we hope to answer in another future movie. Obviously, a magical change of some kind has taken place. We don’t want people to try to do some precise magic calculations in their own heads. “
“We want the donut scene to see Peter make one last sacrifice. He could have told him everything. He could have got his friends back. But he would have put the people he loved back in danger by bringing them back into his life. And he couldn’t.”
The idea, therefore, is that one should not focus too much on the more specific details of the matter. Strange’s magic made everyone forget who Peter Parker is, but he won’t have to worry about not being able to renew his library card. We believe the writers will focus on something else with the next films.
What matters to producers, in the end, is that US takings are higher than other superhero films of 2021: plot details may also remain in the background.
